Soolantra舒立达治疗玫瑰痤疮或暗疮的作用原理，分为两个部份。首先，Soolantra有杀虫的效果，可杀死引起上述皮肤发炎的蟎虫。藉由减少皮肤中的蟎虫数量，来减少发炎反应；减少因为蟎虫引起的发炎而令毛囊出现堵塞情况。
另一方面，Soolantra可抑制许多形成暗疮发炎物质的释放，由此产生抗发炎的效果，因而抑制了暗疮中，红肿和脓疱的产生。
