主见就是自己的想法，顺理成章可以想到跟“观点”相关的词。

跟“观点”有关的表达

mind

mind有很多层意思，想法，心态，思绪，意志，说“智力”的时候也可以用这个词。

要表达一个人有主见，可以和"own"搭配起来：

❶ sb know sb's own mind.

❷ have a mind of one's own.

She knows her own mind.

她这个人很有主见。（她知道自己心里的想法）

You should have a mind of your own.

你要有自己的主见。

There is no point in telling her what to do. She has a mind of her own.

告诉她该怎么做完全没意义，她有自己的想法。

❖There is no point in doing sth 做某事没意义

（There is no point in losing weight. 减肥没啥意义）

本身跟“观点”没什么关系，但“on one's own terms”表示“按自己的条件，按自己想的来”。

I feel he is a great architect on his own terms.

我觉得他是个有主见的了不起的建筑师。

independent（独立的）

Although she is young, she is very independent.
虽然她很年轻，但是很有主见。
As an independent man, Peter never goes with the tide.

decisive（有决心的）

She's decisive and she knows what she wants.

她很有主见，知道自己想要什么。

strong-minded（意志坚强的）

Mike is a strong-minded person.

麦克是个特别有主见的人。

You are the boss now. You have to be strong-minded.

现在是你说了算，你必须要有主见。

短语&专属名词

be one's own man/person

He's his own man, but he doesn't ignore advice.

他很有主见，但他从不忽视别人的建议。（可以理解为“做自己的主人”）

self-starter

名词「self-starter」，专指「做事主动的人；有主见的人」。

这个很好理解，“从自己开始”，不听从别人的指示。

其实“有主见”这个概念在英语里还挺稀罕的，大部分时候说某个人“没主见”多一点。

因为欧美国家大多数人都习惯自己做决定，他们概念里没有特别强调有主见，反而没主见才是会被拿出来说的。

总有那么一些人不太重视自己的想法，喜欢随大流，有时候就像羊群一样，牧羊人的鞭子指向哪里，它们就往哪里走。所以英文里会出现「sheeple」这个词来形容这样的人。

Sheeple is a portmanteau created by combining the words "sheep" and "people”, originating in the United States. It refers to people who are meek, easily persuaded, and tend to follow the crowd.

Sheeple是由sheep和people两个词组合而成的，最初源于美国，指那些顺从、容易被劝服又喜欢跟随大众的人。

典故：汉语中，我们要说一个人“没有主见”时，常说他“耳根子软”，你知道英语里是怎么说的吗？英语中把“耳朵”和“鼻子”错位了，说成 a nose of wax。Are you a nose of wax?（你是一个没有主见的人吗？）

《牛津英语大词典》把 a nose of wax 解释为a person easily influenced, one of a weak character（无主见的人、易受摆布的人）。早在1532年，这个短语就出现在书面用语中。现在，这个短语不太常用，通常只有在最高法院的称述中才能听到这个短语。

有关nose的短语还有很多，例如：

nose to nose（面对面）

get up one's nose（使某人非常生气）

keep one's nose clean（行为检点，不做违法的事）

有主见：

没有主见：

1.The undecided people are victims of gastric ailments, nervous pains and problems of the skin.

缺乏主见的人往往是胃病、神经性疼痛和皮肤病的受害者。

2.I think there is only on quality worse that hardness of heart and that is softness of head.

我以为只有一种品质比铁石心肠更坏的了，那就是没有主见。

3.Oh, awful. They would have an entire army of extremely energetic, insufferably annoying, mindless pawns at their command.
